Fluttr Rockstar Guidelines – Let’s Change Online Dating, for Good

Hopefully these guidelines will help you find all the guidance you need on how to use the Fluttr App in a way that means you and our whole community can all have a great experience. So, let’s take a look at some tips to help you get the most out of your fantastic new online dating platform. Enjoy your time on Fluttr!

Safety Controls

ID Verification

  • On Fluttr everyone is who they say they are because all identities are verified. That’s part of our unique offering and we are rightly proud of our pioneering technology.
  • Our moderators can always trace an account back to a real person so if others try to trick the app about their identity it won’t work. No fake profiles, which makes us super safe😊
  • If an account is cancelled due to a breach of our terms it can never be re-opened because it would fail the personal ID verification – at Fluttr it is the person that is blocked, not the account. Another great fact that makes us super safe.
  • Changing your name – we understand people’s names change sometimes, and for lots of different reasons. That’s fine by us but remember that at Fluttr we always know who the real person is. Our amazing systems have been built with the highest level of member protection in mind. That means no one can never hide behind a different name.

  • As well as working with state-of-the-art AI, it is actual humans who moderate Fluttr. This means that any issues you have will be dealt with quickly and effectively by a real person. That’s a breath of fresh air!
  • You can rest assured that someone will always be around working tirelessly to keep Fluttr free from inappropriate content. We promise to look at every issue raised and respond where necessary.
  • We take our moderation duties very seriously. Here’s a list of unacceptable behaviour within the Fluttr community (and we think you’d agree!) –
    • Unsolicited sexually explicit material
    • Racism
    • Extreme political views and rhetoric
    • Extreme religious views
    • Sexism or misogyny
    • Homophobia, transphobia (discrimination against transsexual or transgender people)
    • Self-harm or suicide
    • Incitement of violence or violent acts.
    • Animal cruelty
    • Child abuse, cruelty or exploitation.
    • Promotion of illegal activities.
    • Advertising or promotion of content, goods or services outside of the Fluttr ecosystem
    • Abusive or foul language
    • Taking Screenshots of images without permission
    • Shaming (e.g., physical appearance and beliefs)
    • Images that have been altered to degrade private individuals
    • Photos or videos of physical or verbal bullying
    • Sharing personal information to blackmail or harass people
    • Repeatedly targeting other people with unwanted friend requests or messages
    • Posting any photos of a pornographic, exhibitionist, or indecent nature
    • Stereotypical or culturally insensitive language
    • Photos or videos of violent actions
    • Any use of the Fluttr app in an illegal, dishonest, malicious and/or discriminatory manner
    • Discrimination against disability or disease – everybody deserves the same respect and kindness to be shown them. Fluttr will not tolerate any content that discriminates against and/or offends anybody because they are affected by a mental or physical condition.

Be aware that any behaviour deemed criminal may be reported to the authorities.

Freedom of Speech

At Fluttr we really value freedom of speech. But just because we value this basic human right, it does not mean that we tolerate everything you want to say. There are limitations and boundaries we have put in place to safeguard all our members. We take our responsibilities very seriously when it comes to protecting the Fluttr community and we hope you will too. That way we can all enjoy the magic that makes Fluttr a fun, lively place to interact and connect. Here’s what we do not consider freedom of speech –

  • Classified info
  • Libel
  • Obscenity– we consider this to be extremely offensive language, behaviour or images that offend someone’s morality.
  • Pornography
  • Trade secrets
  • Incitement – never provoke any unlawful activity
  • Fighting words
  • Non-disclosure agreements
  • Copyright violation
  • Slander
  • Sedition
  • Perjury

We are a planet of 7.6 billion people and growing. It would be strange, and a bit boring, if we all thought the same! But we firmly believe it is everybody’s duty to follow the rules and show respect and kindness to all. Before posting, think about if your content will hurt anyone or provoke bad behaviour. Do your ideas respect the rights of others? Are you trying to harm someone’s reputation?
We live in the Digital Age where so much is possible. Your opinions make you who you are and we’re sure you’ve got plenty of great things you want to share. We just ask that you act responsibly. If not, your freedom of speech will be restricted, and at worst, your account could be investigated.

Respect other members

At Fluttr we want everyone to feel the love! It’s nice to be nice😊 We’re also a very inclusive, yet diverse community. If you want to spice up the conversation, just remember to keep an open mind and celebrate our differences. We’re all unique and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Things can get said as a joke but remember, they may not be remotely funny to other people. They may find it insulting, upsetting and even emotionally damaging. ‘Think before you speak’ is a good motto here and try to put yourself in other people’s shoes. If inappropriate language is used with serious intent to upset someone, this will be investigated, and serial offenders will be banned.

Here are a few things to think about when you’re using Fluttr –

  • Be kind and considerate, kindness makes the world go round
  • Be your best self
  • Be inclusive
  • Be real
  • Don’t bully or harass
  • Don’t discriminate
  • Don’t use threats or violence
  • Be thoughtful
  • Don’t post content that is discriminatory, obscene, inflammatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, profane or personally abusive.

Our Rules on promotion

No advertising is allowed on Fluttr. This means members can’t have ad placements or affiliate links displayed in profiles, pictures, or chats.
We ask that you do not use Fluttr as a promotional tool for social media as this hurts the dating experience for others looking for genuine connections. Anyone who is reported using Fluttr for such purposes could be investigated. Feel free to share your social accounts with matches but please refrain from mentioning them in your profile.

If you experience any problems highlighted in these guidelines, please report them to us and we can help. We appreciate the community sharing responsibility to de-platform bad actors. We ban people – not accounts, and we hope our efforts together will keep Fluttr full of quality, meaningful interactions.

Give yourself time to think about how something makes you feel before clicking the report button. It doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything, but behaviour is subjective, and text is easy to misinterpret when you don’t know someone. If you have a negative reaction to a message, ask yourself whether it could mean something different or be a simple spelling mistake. Then get your match to clarify because communication is key to any successful relationship.
